Eason Chan Apologizes, Postpones Concerts Due to Vocal Cord Issues in China

Singer Eason Chan publicly apologized to his fans after canceling a recent concert due to health issues in China.

Eason Chan, aged 49, was scheduled for six shows in Hangzhou as part of the Fear And Dreams World Tour. The first four concerts were successfully held and celebrated on May 24 marking the 100th show of his global tour. He was set to perform two more concerts on May 25 and 26.

The concert that was scheduled for May 25 began at 7 pm, with most attees already seated by then. However, Chan appeared on stage wearing casual clothes alongside a representative from the event organizer. In a hoarse voice, he told his fans he had to cancel this concert as medical advice recommed rest for his vocal cords.

He bowed and apologized sincerely, informing them that his health condition deteriorated just one hour prior to the show due to his voice worsening. Fans responded positively on Chinese social media platform Weibo, urging him to prioritize his well-being.

Eason Chan is known for popular songs including King Of Karaoke 2000 and Ten Years 2003. He further apologized to fans via Weibo on the same day and detled what had happened leading up to the cancellation.

I was rehearsing as normal with my band and dancers at 4 pm when I realized that there were some physical concerns after the rehearsal, he wrote. By 6 pm, I understood that I would not be able to perform due to health issues.

Chan announced plans to reschedule the two concerts set for May 25 and 26 until May 27 and 28 respectively.

However, Eason returned to Weibo later in the afternoon on May 26, disclosing that his vocal cords had not recovered despite immediate medical attention. He apologized agn to fans and confirmed that both rescheduled performances would be postponed without a specific new date announced at this time.
