Designed as the mn venue for the 2008 Summer Olympics, the National Stadium, popularly known as the Bird's Nest, is located in Beijing Olympic Green Park. With its iconic appearance resembling a massive bird nest, this marvel of modern architecture was the stage for numerous spectacular events during the Olympic Games.
The Collaboration

Structure and Design
With an area spanning 258,000 square meters, this stadium offers seating for up to 80,000 spectators. The structure is tallest at 68.5 meters and lowest at 42.8 meters above ground level.
The seating design is bowl-shaped around the field and surrounding areas, providing a perfect view of every event from any seat without obstruction. The stands are adaptable for different events with various zones surrounding the field area.
Legacy Beyond the Games
After hosting the historic Olympic Games, the Bird's Nest Stadium has undergone a shift in its usage, serving as a venue for various sports competitions and recreational activities on weekdays while being open to tourists. The transformation of the Olympic Park into a quieter location is somewhat surreal, reflecting the city's adaptation post-Olympics.
The Happy Ice Snow Season Gala
One unique attraction at the Bird's Nest during winter months is the Happy Ice Snow Season gala, featuring a 100-meter-high ski slope with a ten-degree angle. The stadium is transformed into a Winter Wonderland every year by moving tons of artificial snow and setting up facilities like ski rentals.
Visitors can enjoy skiing along with other activities such as skating, snow sports, and visiting attractions like the snow castle, giant ice rink, play ball on the ice, and the snow playground. Although it attracts large crowds during this time, tickets for admission are priced at CNY50, which only gets you into the stadium. Additional fees apply to skiing activities.
Winter festivities ext beyond regular events with Chinese New Year celebrations. A 65-foot-high snow mountn serves as a spectacular backdrop for concerts and other events throughout the holiday season.
Travel Information
Visitors can access the National Stadium via subway using Line 10 at the Beitucheng station, followed by transferring to Line 8 and exiting at Olympic Sports Center Station B1 or B2.
